I walked over to Dancing Goats, drowsy and trying to keep my eyes open before settling in for a couple of hours of studying at Price Gilbert Library. Their menu had a bunch of different drinks, most with names that required more brainpower than I had at the moment. Instead of trying to figure them all out, I just ordered a medium ordinary iced coffee.
They handed it to me pretty quickly. On my way out, I noticed the sugar packets and briefly thought about grabbing one, just in case.
Then I took the first sip.
“Ooooooooooooooh!” Perfecto!
It was smooth and perfectly balanced. The coffee flavor was strong without being bitter, the milk mellowed it out, and the ice made it exactly what I needed at that moment. It already had just the right amount of sweetness.
I ended up finishing the whole thing in just a few minutes without even realizing it.
This simple, classic option just hit perfectly.
